IMMIGRATION ACTIVISTS LAUNCH BOYCOTT OF AMERICAN BRANDS
In a growing online movement, Latinos across the U.S. are making their voices heard by rejecting American products as a response to the ongoing wave of deportations.
One video making the rounds on social media shows a family at dinner, where a young man confronts his mother, saying, “How could you do that when Coca-Cola is turning its back on Mexicans?”
The video is part of a larger effort led by the Freeze Latino Movement, which is encouraging a boycott of American businesses as a protest against policies from the Trump administration and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
TRUMP APPOINTS A CHICANA FROM EAST L.A. TO DEPUTY ASSISTANT
In a significant move, President Donald Trump has appointed Jennifer Korn, a Chicana from East Los Angeles, as Deputy Assistant to the President for his second term.
Korn's appointment marks a major milestone in her political career, as she will also serve as the director of the newly created White House Faith Office.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Korn reflected on her remarkable journey, stating, "Only in America could a little girl from East L.A. work their way up to work in two White House administrations."

According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the detainees are linked to the Tren de Aragua, a criminal gang that originated in Venezuela’s prisons.
The group of ten individuals was transported on Tuesday from the Fort Bliss Army base in Texas to the U.S. Navy base in Cuba, as confirmed by U.S. officials speaking to CBS News.

A Mexican startup is tackling the Gulf Coast city of Boca del Río’s plastic waste problem by turning trash into fuel.
With less than 10% of global plastic being recycled, Petgas is pioneering a method that transforms discarded plastics into gasoline, diesel, and other fuels.
The company has developed a machine that uses pyrolysis, a process that breaks down plastic using high heat in an oxygen-free environment, to convert waste into usable energy.
