Report: 170 American Citizens Detained In Immigration Raids 🚨
A new investigation has revealed over 170 cases of U.S. citizens being detained by immigration agents this year, often during large-scale raids. Many were held without access to lawyers or family, with some reporting mistreatment, including physical violence.
The majority of those detained were Latino, raising concerns about racial profiling and systemic abuses.Despite Supreme Court assurances that citizens would be promptly released, the reality paints a different picture.

Mexico City Protests Over Corruption And Crime
Thousands of protesters, led by Generation Z, took to Mexico City’s streets to demand action against corruption, crime, and impunity. While the demonstration began peacefully, clashes erupted between young protesters and police, leaving 120 injured and 20 arrested.
The movement, fueled by frustration over systemic issues, gained support from older opposition members, highlighting a growing intergenerational push for reform. Despite President Claudia Sheinbaum’s high approval ratings, the protests underscore dissatisfaction with public safety and governance.
Colorado’s Latino Population Grows 77% In 25 Years
Colorado’s Latino population has surged by 77% since 2000, reaching 1.3 million, though it lags behind the national growth rate, which doubled in the same period. The majority of Colorado’s Latinos are of Mexican descent, reflecting the state’s historical ties to Mexico.
However, the community has become increasingly diverse, with smaller populations from Central and South America. Latinos now make up 20% of Colorado’s population, significantly influencing the state’s cultural and political landscape.
Ester Hernandez’s Chicano Art Legacy Preserved At Stanford
Ester Hernandez, a trailblazing Chicano artist known for her provocative works, is having her life’s work preserved at Stanford’s Cantor Arts Center. Hernandez’s art often reimagines cultural symbols, like the Statue of Liberty and Our Lady of Guadalupe, to challenge societal norms and inspire activism.
Born to farmworker parents, Hernandez’s art reflects her Mexican and Yaqui heritage, addressing themes of environmental justice, identity, and resistance.
Bombshell: Crews Were Ordered To Abandon Smoldering Fire
A bombshell report has raised questions about the Los Angeles Fire Department’s handling of the Palisades fire, the most destructive in the city’s history. Firefighters were reportedly ordered to leave the site of a smaller blaze, despite concerns it was still smoldering.
Days later, the fire reignited, fueled by hurricane-force winds, killing 12 and destroying over 6,800 structures. Critics, including former city officials, are calling for an independent investigation into the fire’s origins and the LAFD’s response.
Chicano Influence on U.S. History Runs Deep
From the 1836 Texas revolt to now, Mexicans and Mexican Americans have been shuffled across both sides of the border, either by force or by choice. Because of this history, an assortment of border identities has formed, the most notable being Chicano.
In a country that has often made them feel like outsiders, second class citizens, and an expendable labor force, Chicanos have a long history of mobilizing on behalf of rights and liberties.
More Latinos Earned Degrees This Past Decade Than Any Time In History
In the 2017-2018 academic year, approximately 26 million students were enrolled in postsecondary institutions, including degree and technical/non-degree programs. Among these, 18-to24-year-olds in degree-granting institutions accounted for just 40% of the total student population, with the majority being non-traditional students over the age of 25.
Latino enrollment among 18-to24-year-olds rose from 27% in 2007 to 36% in 2017. While this marks significant progress, it still lagged behind the enrollment rate for Caucasians during the same period.
