Poll: Latinos Are Sick Of Both Political Parties
As the next round of elections approaches, widespread frustration is reshaping the political landscape.
After Donald Trump’s historic 48% support among Latino voters in 2024, there’s now a striking change in sentiment—not just toward Trump, but toward the political system as a whole.
Recent polling highlights not only declining approval for the president, but growing disillusionment with both Republicans and Democrats as voters grow tired of empty promises and political gridlock.
Immigration Remains Flashpoint
A New York Times/Siena poll reveals that 69% of Hispanic respondents now disapprove of Trump’s performance, and 58% believe he’s made the economy worse. Frustration runs deep as the cost of living and inflation continue to be top concerns, with many feeling that no party has delivered real solutions to these everyday struggles.
Immigration, too, remains a flashpoint. Under the Trump administration, crackdowns on undocumented immigrants have intensified, with deportations projected to reach 600,000 this year. The same polls show that nearly half of Latino respondents fear deportation for themselves or loved ones.
Democrats Still Not Picking Up Voters
But declining approval for Trump doesn’t mean Democrats are winning over Latino voters—or the broader American public. The data shows that many are equally discouraged by the Democratic Party’s lack of concrete action. There’s a growing sense that both sides are more interested in blaming each other than actually helping struggling families.
As Democratic strategist Maria Cardona acknowledged, criticizing the opposition is no longer enough. Voters are looking for real plans, real solutions, and a genuine commitment to improving lives.
As the next round of elections approaches, this widespread frustration is reshaping the political landscape.
