Tío Rant: The Edgar Haircut Is A Fashion Abomination
Not every trend deserves a redemption arc, and the Edgar is a prime example.
Let’s talk about the “Edgar haircut.”
You’ve seen it—short, choppy bangs paired with a bowl-like fade that somehow manages to look both unfinished and overthought.
It’s become a cultural phenomenon, but not for the right reasons.
Let’s be honest: it’s not flattering, it’s not edgy, and it’s certainly not the style revolution some claim it to be.
What’s worse is how traditional media has jumped to its defense, painting it as a misunderstood expression of individuality or a symbol of rebellion.
Let’s call it what it is: a bad haircut that’s been overhyped. Not every trend deserves a redemption arc, and the Edgar is a prime example.
Instead of making excuses for this style, let’s encourage better grooming choices. Haircuts should enhance, not embarrass.
It’s time to retire the Edgar and let it fade into the annals of regrettable trends.

Native/Indigenous Peoples might see this as another example of Cultural Appropriation. Tribal people are aware of our cultural norms as well as also respecting other tribal norms Globally. Aboriginal/Indigenous people throughout history are well documented, even centuries ago, have been identified with certain tribal (norms). Come on, Kids! Nice try at 'what was old-is new again'!
*Cultural appropriation is the adoption of a culture's elements by members of a dominant culture, often without understanding, credit, or permission, which can trivialize the original meaning and cause harm. This differs from cultural appreciation, which involves honoring a culture, as appropriation often involves a power imbalance where the dominant group profits from or demeans a marginalized culture's traditions, symbols, and practices.* Blessings and prayers~
